Alaminos, Pangasinan: Home of the Hundred Islands 

The HOME OF THE HUNDRED ISLANDS is located at the heart of Barangay Lucap, City of Alaminos, Pangasinan. Its a 3 hours drive from the City of San Fernando, La Union to Alaminos, Pangasinan depending on the traffic,you could reach the area via private vehicle within 3 hours or so and 3-4 hours via bus.

There are lots of island but there are these Top 3 Most well developed Islands, the famous one which is the Governors Island, Quezon Island and  Marcos Island. Every Island had its own unique name, there goes the Kissing Island, Devils Island, Cuenco Island, Childrens Island, Romulo Island, Virgin Island and etc. So if your planning to Island Hop at Hundred Islands here are a few tips and informations that I can share with you.

My picture perfect shot on top of Governors Island. I was drown in the beauty of nature. From all of the Islands, Governors Island had the most beautiful view. Climbing all the way here is another challenge. Tourists climb up here in order to take a selfie.

There are lots of island who are not yet develop, you can see and visit them but it would be too dangerous to go down to these Island's who are not yet develop, there is nothing much to see on these Island just plain trees and rocks,  just be careful for their were scattered snakes on these kind of island.

How to reach Alaminos City, Hundred Islands?

If you are from the City of San Fernando, La Union, you could take an ordinary bus that will go to Dagupan. (There are no Bus that goes direct to Alaminos, so you have to take two rides.)

Bus Fare from City of San Fernando, La Union to Dagupan City as of July 2017: Php 95.00

Travel Time: Approximately more than 2 hours depending on the traffic

After reaching Dagupan City Bus terminal you can ride the PUVs at the Dagupan bus terminal

Fare: Php 65.00 

Travel Time: 1 hour and 30 minutes

But if you're from Manila, Travel time is 5 hours via public bus.

Barangay Lucap is quite far from the City town proper so in order to reach the area you need to ride a
 tricycle. Their mode of transportation is tricycle.

Minimum Fare from Alaminos City Town proper to Barangay Lucap is  Php 60.00. 

After reaching Barangay Lucap, you have to register at their Provincial Tourism Office just beside the
boating area in order to hire a boat. There was an environmental fee charge for the maintenance of the
Island. We took a Small Boat (1-5 persons): Php 1,500.00 environmental fee, already included. 

It is the cheapest boat we can hire so we decided to rent the small boat for Php 1,500.00.

Sadly, we only got to visit 3 Islands cause we already need to go back because its already getting dark and our boat doesn't have lights. And the day tour package is only until 5:00 PM.

This is my second time to visit Hundred Islands. And still the Islands never fails to mesmerize me. I am still in love with its beauty.

Where to stay?

Governors Island, Quezon Island  Childrens Island have cottages and rooms too that can be rented for those who want to stay indoor. But, there are lots of affordable rooms and cottages at Barangay Lucap near the souvenir stores. There are lots of Rooms, Cottages, Hotels & Transient Houses near the area.

During our stay at Alaminos City, the City Social Welfare Development Office, CSWDO let us stay at La Esplanada Transient House, its a nice, cozy and safe place located at Barangay Lucap near the Hundred Islands. The Transient House is perfect for the tourists who plans to stay near the Island but one thing that I dislike at the area is that its too far from the City Proper, you need to ride a tricycle in order to reach the City Proper, minimum fare on tricycle is Php 60.00. The thing that I like about La Esplanada is that you could see the view of the Island at their tower and their rooms are air conditioned too, it had a separate kitchen, dining area, sala set & 2 bed rooms.

I also recommend Asia Novotel, for those who are looking for a hotel just near the City Proper. The hotel is just a 2-3 minutes walk from the City Hall and Mcdonalds. Barangay Lucap where Hundred Islands is located. It is a lil bit far from the hotel, you will need to ride a tricycle in order to reach Barangay Lucap, Hundred Islands National Park. (Php 60.00 as of November 2015)

Novotel is the perfect hotel for those looking for a place to stay while visiting Alaminos. It has a nice ambience with fully Air Conditioned Room, with a clean Comfort Room, and a Flat Screen Television with Cable.

It has been a good long trip, an unforgettable experience indeed. (On top of the famous Governors Island.)

What to Buy?

There are lots of souvenir items to buy. There goes the Island Souvenir Shirts, Keychains, Ref magnets, Mugs, Bags and clocks made of shell. And before anything else I highly recommend you to try their Alaminos Longganisa. It is one of my favorite, their longganisa is unique because they used atsuete in it. You can buy their famous longganisa at their market. Just be sure to buy early for their market closes at 6:00 P.M.

Its either you have fallen head over heels over an arrogant straight guy or you’ve definitely fallen on your face over a gay guy. Neither of the two is a good choice. Girls wouldn’t want to end up with the second choice over a bisexual guy. It’s not an option most females would likely choose, choosing someone who will leave you once they “comes out of the closet.”

I had lots of homosexual and bisexual friends and while talking to one of my gay friends. He looked at me and said, “Trust me, alam ko bakla din siya. ”

It sounds nonsensical , but it slightly made sense, I understand what he is trying to convey that they had the ability to distinguish their own race (kalahi). He was referring to our bisexual friend, a closet queen. We were suspicious that he was a bisexual he had live in denial for years that was why we were surprised when he’d finally admitted his preference and gender and when he finally unveiled his partner whose also a homosexual . I applaud him for his deep courage. It has been an extremely emotional and hard process for most, it is very scary for someone to reveal his or her true self to his friends, family and especially to the public. You need a lot of courage to do that! I respect and admire their relationship on how they struggle  and fight for their love against their family. It is already expected that their families are not in favor of their relationship. I hope that their story would be an inspiration for all the closet queens out there. Do not be afraid to unmask the truth, it is better to tell the truth than hiding into reality. A lot of men live in denial for years. But please don’t live in a lie. Because in the end every detail will come out!

Hello my fellow bloggers and readers! It had been months since I last updated this blog, I had been very busy those past few months from my school thesis and work that I do not had the time to blog anymore, I almost wanted to quit blogging, but thanks to my fellow readers because of you I was determined to start blogging again despite my busy schedule. During my vacation after my summer class I went to this famous haunted house in Baguio City called the “Laperal: White House”. So now let’s unveil the haunted story behind the mansion.

The History behind the Old White House:

If you are seeking for adventure like ghost hunting the 4-hectare “White House” is the perfect place for you. It is located on Leonard Wood Road in Baguio City near the Teachers Camp and was now owned by Lucio Tan in 2007 which still remains to be unoccupied. According to what I have read on the Daily Inquirer it was formerly owned and built by Roberto Laperal in the late 1930sThe house was named after the family who once owned it. The mansion had its own taste of cruelty and horror due to the killings of the Japanese Soldiers during the World War II. The Old White House had been a witness from the cruelty of the past; it has witness the Filipino men being tortured and killed and the women being raped inside the mansion’s bedroom. Stories say that the Japanese murdered people here including its inhabitants.

Restless Spirits inside the mansion

Those restless spirits which have been killed before are still wandering inside the mansion.  It is said that the owners of the mansion, the Laperal Family was killed by the Japanese. Roberto Laperal, one of the last Laperals to live, said to have died after slipping and hitting his head.

It is believed that the restless spirits are still roaming inside the mansion, some taxi drivers were afraid to pass the Leonard wood road during late hours for the fear that they might see apparitions in the house. The taxi drivers honked their horns each time they passed the house as a way of excusing themselves to the spirits. The caretakers observed these restless spirits for sometimes the lights would switch on and off, some people who passed by the mansion saw something moving in the windows. According to the house caretaker she was hearing footsteps from the stable in the basement and windows being shuttered even when no one was around. There are media accounts saying, that the old man, Roberto Laperal could still be heard walking inside the house. The security guard and taxi drivers even saw an apparition of a woman in white going to and out of the house. The guard said that he saw the woman walk through the gates and passed over him in the porch and entered through the main door. A guest with a third eye said that restless spirits are still living in the mansion. The spirits were strongly felt inside the master’s bedroom and in another room. Another story, tells about unidentified young girl was spotted at the stairs of the house. While I was making these blog, I was even in Goosebumps.

We took a tour around the house with a heavy heart. I don’t know but while I was wandering through the house it felt so eerie and scary of course knowing that you are inside a haunted house. And my travel buddy Kevin kept on scaring me, I don’t want to scream for I might disturb those spirits that is why there was a sign there which says Observe silence. He kept on opening every door and every closet to satisfy his curiosity. But there were several doors which can’t be opened probably locked. The mansion is really big that even the sound of the creaking door gives me the shiver.

You could barely see a clear image of a woman looking at me and Ugh! That scared the shit out of me. I don’t know if it is one of the ghosts of the haunted house or was it just my wild imagination. Actually I didn’t notice the woman behind me at all I just realized it after posting our pictures in Facebook and one of my Facebook friends commented in this picture and said that there’s a black woman staring behind right me. And whoa! I couldn’t believe it but when I zoomed the picture there really is a clear image of a woman staring at me. I felt eerie after I saw that maybe we have disturbed those spirits in the haunted mansion and I felt sorry and scared. And I remembered on our way back home to San Fernando, La Union while I’m on the bus I fell asleep for awhile and was awakened by the passengers getting out of the bus then I saw someone staring at me it was a woman and she looked mad by the way that she’s staring at me. I was shocked because why will someone stare at me like that? Have I done something wrong? I crumpled and rolled my eyes because I am still sleepy I just woke up from the noise of the passengers, I rolled my eyes and looked again at the woman but then I just saw the back of a man sitting opposite from me. And the woman was gone. That was one of my scariest experiences and I believe that, that was the same woman at the picture. I don’t know if it’s just my wild imagination playing with me while I’m at the bus or maybe because I was just tired and sleepy that was why I saw something like that. Ugh! I don’t know whatever it was I felt sorry because it might be that we disturb those restless spirits inside the haunted house because Kevin kept on opening every closet he saw every doors that we passed and we are very noisy too screaming and shouting inside the old mansion. I really am sorry for disturbing them. L
